    Thanks for that news Doug.
So...no sign yet of the rumoured (and much-feared) Logic Pro X.

The Logic Pro 9.1.7 updater doesn't recognise my 9.1.6 version! It says it can't find an "eligible Logic Pro version in the Applications folder. This update requires Logic Pro version 9.0 or higher".

The Logic Pro version I have is legal. Any ideas, anyone.
    Thanks

Yes, easy one: you renamed and/or moved the Logic Pro application.

Neither! That's what I would have said, but no.

Very strange - any other ideas, anyone?

    Thanks

So, you have an application named "Logic Pro" inside the Applications folder? No version number or anything behind the name...

Yep, that it. But I managed to get the update to work by reinstalling Logic Pro 9 from the DVD (Just the basic).

I guess it was one of those weird little computer things sent to try us.

    Thanks again

Nope - may the rumor mills continue to grind away.

Why the race to the latest update when everything is up and runing? I think the people that depend on Logic to run and meet deadlines aren't so eager. Everyone else have fun and let us know how it all works out.

    Two comments:

It is to be expected that point updates will be improvements on previous versions - see details of the update here. We are now on the 11th version of Logic 9, there have been a lot of improvements and new features added since 9.0 came out.

Secondly, it is usually a good idea to keep the previous version of Logic on your system. Just zip it before you upate, or copy it to another location, rename it and you are covered either way.

    kind regards

I'm stuck in OSX.6.7 due to still rocking an apogee symphony 32 card but might pop for the 64 card upgrade assuming this new version of logic works fine in OSX.6.8 (symph 64 still doesn't work in lion). Can anyone confirm this?

9.1.7 seems to be fine running in OSX 10.6.8 here.

    kind regards

FWIW, I'm still getting the well documented spinning beach ball at startup with 9.1.7 and OS 10.6.8, just as I did with 9.1.6. And even hitting command N to open a new project yields the beach ball, although mercifully not for as long.

So, I'm still stuck on 9.1.5 for the time being :(

Just noticed a change in 9.1.7 that I'd call either a bug or a step backwards:
In the Score window, moving notes shows all the info as before:

However in the Piano Roll window, there is now a minimal info box:

The note name is no longer shown - this is a particular loss.
    Can anyone confirm this please?

    [I'm running 9.1.7 in 32-bit mode in OS 10.6.8]

Piano Roll display on my MBP:
    Move Events
    Note 2 A0 88
    2 1 1 1 . . 1 40

    32 or 64 bit

I am not able to reproduce this here, Colin, neither in 32 nor 64 bit, running Logic Pro 9.1.7 in OSX 10.6.8. Note information is showing up in the piano roll as expected. Is it happening to you with every Logic Project? Have you a second Mac to try it on?

    kind regards

Apogee painted me in a corner

    :brkwl:
    daveyboy,
I'm in the same boat, what to do. If I buy the 64 card I'm sure it won't be long before it will not be supported. I really like the Rosseta 800 and all the apogee product but thinking about jumping ship to the Lynx Aurora.
