Logic Pro 9 Apparent Confirmation Logic 10 is in Development

This reassuring post on Gearslutz seems to confirm that Logic 10 is in development. A user emailed Tim Cook and got a response from Xander Soren, the Director of Music Apps Marketing at Apple:

But seriously, did anyone really think that Logic development had been stopped? And by that I don't mean, are people upset that they're not getting a new version fast enough. But did anyone who uses Logic, and knows that another maintenance update (9.1.8) was released just a month ago or so, really really think that development had ended? I mean seriously, did people think that update was written by ghosts, or that it wrote itself?

Sometimes I think if a new version of Logic came out every month, every two weeks panicky gossip about how Apple is giving up on audio would still crop up.

Hey Orren,

I for one was not, and am not, worried about Logic's future. But I was alarmed when Russ Hughes posted that thing a few weeks ago. For a moment I thought "maybe he knows something the rest of us don't!"

But, as Jay pointed out (and I missed it at the time), Russ's article referred to "application specialists", not the actual developers.

Hi Eli,

Oh no need to apologize, I wasn't getting down on you or anything. It's just that the rumor mill sometimes gets so tiresome. Someone says something unfounded (a Pro Tools specialist in Europe suggesting that he knows something about Apple) and there is this huge internet hue and cry.

I though the whole story was funny.
So a ProTools specialist is pointing out trouble at Apples' audio department. Hmm, did that person check what is going on with his own company Avid? Talking about decimating. If I were a ProTools owner, I would be more than worried about that product based on the direction (or lack of it) Avid is going.
