Logic 9 Changing start point of folder changes timing

Another regular folder question (this is not about take folders)

If I pack tracks into a folder and then drag the start time back (without moving the folder) the tracks inside go out of time. Is this a known bug? Is there a workaround? I'd like to move the start point back to edit something say 30ms before beat one of the start of the folder. Even if I move the start point to the start of a previous bar the contents go out of time by a random sounding amount.

Bump - Has anyone experienced this behaviour where when you drag the folder start back? Has anyone the time to try? Folders are really convenient but there are a few odd things. Just wondered if anyone has workarounds.

Avoid setting the start of your project before 1 1 1 1, at any given time... Logic gets haywired otherwise

It's not the start time of the whole project I'm dragging back - this timing error occurs when the display point of the folder start is dragged back - even by whole bars. Does this happen for anyone else? Ta

    Hi Badger,

I'm assuming you are talking about audio regions and not MIDI regions?

I'm not sure fi this will solve your problem or not, but make sure the "lock arrange position when moving anchor" option is enabled for each of the regions in the Sample Edit Window.

    Hi Eli

I'm referring to audio regions that are packed into a folder - if I drag the start point of the folder to an earlier position (usually in order to edit the audio just prior inside the folder) the timing of the audio goes out of time with the rest of the track. The audio isn't moved inside the folder, it just plays back out of time. If I snip the new folder start off that I dragged back the audio plays in time again. What your suggesting would entail going into the sample edit for every single region wouldn't it? Do you have any other ideas or can you confirm this occurs on your system?
    Many thanks for your time

I'm not sure why this is happening. I can confirm the following on my end:
I packed several audio files into a folder. It played back fine. I dragged the left folder boundary earlier. Not only did it play back in time, but dragging the left folder boundary earlier did not affect the start time of the audio regions contained within it. This is the behavior that I would expect. Extending the start time of a folder to an earlier position should not affect the region boundaries inside. Are you sure you didn't just move the whole folder earlier by mistake?

    Hi Eli

Thanks for taking the time to try those steps. I'm sure it's a recurring problem here. I'll keep an eye on it and see what gives. The tracks inside the folder are typically in a group set to phase accurate arrange editing and record. The audio inside the folder is sometimes a snippet of audio that itself starts earlier (the folder is just a segment of a larger piece of multi track audio). I'm not sure if this makes a difference. I'll get back to you.

But still, is it before 1 1 1 1 you dragged the folder?

Posting your system specs could be helpful...
Could you also please post a screen capture of problematic tracks/folder in the Arrange, with the Event editor at the regions level?
