    Hi,
I've just purchased a used (2208) 3.1 mac pro with 8 cores of xeon at 3ghz and 32 gb of ram with a 1gb graphic card and 2x 750gb hard drives. It also has a fresh installation of El Capitan. I've bought it purely to run Logic Pro X and Native Instruments Komplete. Is there anything I can do as regards installing the software that will make my system more efficient e.g. installing the kontakt samples onto the second hd?
    Many thanks,
    Dale

The change on older Macs I notice the most is from changing the internal drives to SSDs.

Thanks for taking the time to answer bayswater. I already have an SSD sorted but it's properly not large enough. With only one at the moment, would you recommend using it for samples or for the boot disk?
    Thanks.

If you're use of samples is light, use it as the startup drive. Otherwise, use it for the samples.
