Logic X Confused by the compressor in Logic 10.1.1

There are 2 tracks I'd like to sidechain to a compressor: bass and brass.
When watching online tutorials about sidechaining to a compressor a totally different compressor is being used than the one I get to see. How can I get the same one with 5 sliders, 2 knobs and a small diagram instead of lots of knobs and a large meter display?
Is the type of compressor related to the instrument you want to compress?

It sounds like you are using LPX v10.1 and the video was shot with a previous version.

LPX 10.1 didn't reinvent the compressor, it got a facelift. The user interface is just different (plus a few "minor" changes). Instead of replicating the clicks and moves of specific buttons and sliders you see on the video, understand the name/function of the controls. You will find them most likely with the same labels on the new compressor layout.

Thanks. I'll look for the values in the instructional videos and try to get used to the new layout.
