Cutting and sampling audio loops

I was hoping for some advice on a good approach to cutting an audio loop, assigning individual hits to ESX24 and using them in a project.

I'm new to using Logic but seem to be picking things up relatively quickly, therefore a little push in the right direction is all I need.

  • What tools/methods can I use to cut an audio loop? Does Logic Pro X facilitate this out of the box, or do I need some external tool such as Recycle?
  • If I have a loop at 125bpm, and I'm writing a piece of music at 120bpm, do I need to warp the loop before cutting it up?

Perhaps this has been asked previously, therefore apologies if this is a duplicated thread.
