I am trying to enter MIDI data with a Yamaha P-120 Electric Piano. I have an iMac, running 10.6.8, 4GB RAM, using Logic 9.

(Is this the right place to ask this question? Where else might I post?)

Been using an Edirol controller to keyboard with. Logic receives the MIDI fine.

Friend gave me his Yamaha P-120 which I'd prefer to use as a controller (weighted action plus full keyboard) but alas technical issues once again are making me question any change to my system!!!

Went to Yamaha's USB to MIDI web page and downloaded supposedly the correct driver for my operating system ("USB-MIDI Driver for Mac OS X (10.5.x - 10.9.x)") but it's seemed to have had no effect.

    Thanks for any help!

Figured it out! Reversed the "in" "out" plugs on the MIDI side. So actually, it seems, the in goes into the out and the out into the in. MIDI feels so quaint.

Actually, if anyone ever reads this... maybe you can tell me how to take this thread down?
