Hey folks, woo hoo first post! Do we know if we can automate Drummer. I was toying with the complexity / loud knob [IMG] and thought it would be nice to automate this to have dramatic builds as opposed to creating several different regions. Can you use traditional automation with Drummer?

You can't technically automate the Drummer. But you can control him in several ways:

    • You can automate the Smart Controls on the Drummer Track - which basically means the level of each kit piece category and the overall effects.

    • You can slice up the regions on the Drummer track to as many or as small an amount of slices you want. And each slice can have it's own settings and presets applied. Don't underestimate this, it is very powerful and affords a lot of control.

    • You can convert the regions on the Drummer Track to MIDI and edit them to your heart's content as MIDI. You'll get the exact same sound, since it's playing back on the same Drum Designer track. But you won't be able to then convert back to a Drum Designer region and preserve your edits to further take advantage of the randomization features in the Drummer interface.

    • You can combine the Drummer Track with some additional strategically programmed MIDI parts triggering the same Drum Designer track. Don't underestimate this as a powerful way of customizing the generated Drummer parts to fit your music.
