i'm tryin to figure out the bpms of a beat I made. I threw a BPM Counter on the out 1-2 fader but it won't show me the BPMs. It just blinks, no matter what I do, no matter if I start or stop the song, it just blinks and never shows me a number.

how do i get it to work? thx!

Your piece may not contain clear rhythmical information. The counter can just try to measure a kind of regular pattern. But since it is not human, it cannot feel a tempo. The less sounds in the track, the more dynamics, the better will the counter estimate the tempo. You can try an EQ that cuts the heights or lows to make the rhythm more obvious. Or mute tracks which are not necessary to let the BPM counter guess the tempo. Unless your piece sounds machine-like, the readout of the counter will always be a guess, nothing to rely on.

Try putting it on the actual audio channel strip instead of the output fader. And make sure it is the first plug in in the chain, in case you have additional plug ins on that channel strip.
