I have just started using Garageband and have already maxed out my available tracks. Does Logic 9 use the CPU more efficiently (allow more tracks) or is it contingent on the power of your computer?

Be aware that when you open a new track in GarageBand, you are actually opening a channel strip that has effects applied to it.

To get more milage turn the effects off.

Yes it all comes down to the power of your computer.

For best performance, always have your audio on a drive different from your system drive.

Don't allow your system drive to become to full, or system performance will suffer.
