Logic Studio apps Mainstage Playback plug in

    Hi folks,

Just bounced down a few backing tracks for playback in MS and, despite them all peaking at 0.1dB in Logic, they all clip in MS playback plugin.

There are no insert effects on the channel strip.

Not a show stopper, as they can all be turned down, but seems strange.

    Anyone else experience this?

I'm sure you meant -0.01 DB correct? Because if not, there is your problem.

Otherwise it could be a difference in meter ballistics (what each app decides is going to represent 0 DB). Have you taken a look at your audio interface and see if you are seeing any red overloads on their meters, or it's software meters (Usually most hardware has it's own monitoring software these days).

I would suggest you either don't worry about it, or bounce your tracks at -.05 DB.

    Thanks for replying, George:

    Hmm... not sure.

Both Logic and MS level meters display one decimal place, so I *think* 0.1.

Haven't noticed anything but haven't checked the software.
That said, I'm using the same interface on MS as I used in Logic.

I'll probably go with the former for now.
