suggestions, please, for an android app that will allow me to create a setlist of different tempi and meters, and will flash a light per beat?

This is for a club gig next week, I don't need an audible click.

Peter, I use Frozen Ape's Tempo App on an iPad pretty much do to what you are looking for when gigging with my Big Band. I allows me to organise setlists with varying tempi and time signatures, flashing lights, the volume of the audible click can be reduced to silence (or simply plug a set of headphones in), all in all, it works well for me. I see there is an android version available:

    kind regards

    thanks Mark:

as it happens I had installed that very app on my phone yesterday and tried it at rehearsals.
I can't find a way to save any meter other than 4/4 with each song.
    I've emailed customer support

That's strange Peter. Here on my iPad it offers a variety of time signatures, grouped as X/2, X/4, X/8. I can't imagine that an android version would be lacking something as basic as that…
What I do find a little confusing is that it seems necessary to first select the time signature and then create the song, the possibilities to edit songs already in a setlist aren't all that great. Also (and this is probably a little too specialised for this sort of app) there doesn't seem to be a way to have changing time signatures. As a case in point, we play a Pat Metheny arrangement, first circle, which starts with repeated bars of 6/8 and 5/8, later switching to 4/4. I can choose 11/4 to at least have every second bar starting with a downbeat, but it isn't quite up to this sort of task, if it was really necessary I would probably have to resort to using a logic sequence as a click.

    kind regards

    Mark

yep, our set contains several of pat's songs :)

OIC! you have to be on the main screen, then select a time sig, then close the sig window, then go to the list to add a new song.

    that's progress for ya! :)

    thanks
