Logic 9 'missing files' alert file dialog problem

Having moved my projects to a different drive, loading a song prompts me to find missing files - at which point I am presented with a file dialogue, but cannot select the new drive.

I can get round this, but why isn't this simple task transparent?

That's not happened to me, but maybe quitting and restarting Logic would solve the issue?

Did you format the disc, or are you sure it's Mac OS extended, with the GUID type?

yes, disc is OS extended and GUID

Orren: no, doesn't help, not even restarting my mac.
    Visiting the file dialog:
Mouse click on target drive fails but...
If I select another application ( such as Safari or activity Monitor) then click back on the file dialog, it becomes active!

Are you sure your permissions for the drive are ok?

Here is a suggestion:in the finder, select the drive and then check the box that says "Ignore Ownership On This Volume". It will ask for your admin password when you do this (your maid system password is your admin password in most cases).

    Did that work?

George: that seems to have done the trick - thanks :)

    > your maid system password

    I don't use a password, I just beckon....
