I switched on my faithful old imac powerpc g5 osx 10.4.11, and something went bang. My firebox firewire interface lay dead.
If I have to buy a new interface, which one is recommended to work well both with my present setup and if and when I'm forced to upgrade?
Any advice to a nontech amateur songwriter welcome.
I'm using Logic8 express at present.

Because you have an older G5 based Mac, firewire is your only choice I think... your laptop doesn't have USB 2 correct?

If it has USB 2 you have more choices then. the new Apogrr Solo or Suet 2 are AWESOME! Very good. I have heard one of the new Duet 2s and they are really beautiful sounding.
    and USB 2.
