Logic 8 plug in component location

    Where does Logic keep 3rd party plug in components? I went to to user>Library>audio>logic>plugins>components but there's nothing in that folder. I need to remove a problem component but I can't find it.

    You're close! They're not in the User library though. They're usually in the main Library at the root level of your system drive. Same pathway - just start at the root Library folder.

    To add to Eli's advice:
    Logic sees Audio Units in BOTH locations - depends on where the installer puts them - usually defaults to the main Library pathway.

    There's a nice app which is discontinued now called AudioUnitManager (AUM). You can still get it here:

    It can create sets of AU plugins and allows you to disable/enable any plugins quite easily.
