Logic 9 PLUG-INS DON'T RESPOND TO DOUBLE CLICK!

I'm posting this for a friend who is a new Logic 9 user.
His problem is this: after instantiating a plug-in and then closing the plug-in window he can no longer access that plug by simply double clicking on it.

Ever happen to you? It's never happened to me...

The plug appears in the insert section, colored the default light blue, yet when you double click on it- nothing. He can, with a single click and hold, delete it or choose another plug from the drop down menu. He just can't pull up the chosen plug and manipulate.

    Anyone have a clue?

    thanks

I've had the problem; mostly in 64 bit mode. Sometimes I am able to solve it by double-clicking more slowly. Sometimes it wants me to double click faster.

    It's weird and semi-frustrating.
