Re: Mono to stereo

Hi Everyone,

I am a new member to this group and new to Logic. I was using GB in the past and now I am trying to learn the basics for Logic. I have Logic Pro 8 and right now I just need how to have my recordings in stereo. GB you had to record in mono and switch to stereo, but how do you get a recording in stereo like a guitar track?

Thanks,
Jeff

First of all, it only makes sense to make a stereo recording when the source material is stereo. Taking one source - be it a miked up singer or instrument or a DI'ed source - and recording that to a stereo file doesn't make a lot of sense. If your source is indeed stereo, simply switch the logic channel strip you are recording with to stereo, make sure the routing is correct and you should be good to go.

kind regards

Mark

Try selecting the mono channel you want to make stereo and look in the media library for a stereo doubler effect. If you want the best solution to putting guitar out of both speakers though, record a second guitar. It just sounds more "real".
