How do you record before 1? For example I want a guitar strum to start slightly before the beat. In Digital performer you can move everything over and set where 1 is. In Logic I cannot figure out how to do this. I don't want the first bar to be labeled 2. That is really confusing.

I tried setting record preroll, but I still can't pull the left edge of the region before 1.

If you go to the bar ruler at the top of the Arrange window and put the cursor over the leftmost end of it, you'll see it change to a 'left bracket.' Now you can hold the mouse button down and drag left - you'll see the pickup beats exposed as you drag. I usually go a full bar so I don't confuse myself with the count-in. HTH
