Set up user account for recording?

Long time lurker, first time poster, so hello!

Is there any value in setting up a separate user account on my computer solely for music production, i.e., optimised in such a way that system resources are devoted as much as possible to recording, with the goal of minimising latency?

I use a 2.16 GHz C2D iMac running Logic 9, with a TC Electronic Konnekt 6 firewire interface, to record my guitar using various amp simulators, along with Superior Drummer 2 and native synth bass.

I would actually advice against it. I had two admin accounts because of some troubles and it was certainly not worth it. Things went so bad lately that I re-installed OS X to get some sanity. I can't think of any plus side to user a different account for music making. At some point when installing updates you would have to log in with another account and it's just a hassle.
