Logic 9 Strange Occasional Midi Track Transpositions

This must be user error, but at least a couple of times working on projects when I select a region to copy using option-drag, the MIDI notes get screwed up in unpredictable ways. Maybe half a measure will be right, and then everything else is haywire.

I have no idea what is causing this. Suggestions of things to look at are appreciated. Thanks!

Are you using a chord track? If so, that's it.

Yup, looks like that's the problem. Thank you!

Any way to have Logic analyze the chord structure -makes for fast lead sheet creation on a long piece - but to disable it screwing everything else up?

Apparently it is bound up with transposition information and actually transposes things, which is not necessary most of the time. There appears to be an option to change the display only, does this solve that problem?

    I don't understand this...um..."feature." But I haven't used it much.
