Logic 9 Take folder bugs - does anyone have a trick?

I was recording a guitar using two mics and had them grouped and editing-locked together. ON the first song all worked like a charm as I compiled a take. On a second song after a few moves the tracks stopped working in sync. As I changed one track's take, the other didn't change. I ungrouped, re-grouped, clicked edit lock, unclicked edit-lock. rebooted. etc. Couldn't get them to work together again. This is a major hassle. Does anyone have a trick to fix this?

Hmm I'm still on a G5 so I don't use Logic 9.1 if that's where the problem is.
I can say however that I have no problems with the take folder since version 9. I use it all the time the way that you describe and I have never experienced any of the problems that you have, very strange.
You have also ticked selection in the group menu I presume.

i tried copying to three new tracks but no go. However it is a four minute song in one comp folder. when I cut the take folder to remove some extraneous audio - bingo - it started working again. So that seems to be the 'trick' I was looking for...

That's good! I've had the same thing happen and didn't trouble shoot it. I love and hate those take folders as now recording "normally" (pro tools, digital performer), drives me crazy as I like having all my stuff there ready to comp.

Pro Tools 8 has a version of take folders (they don't call them that though) that works pretty nicely.

To the original poster, I wonder if your problem is related to take folders, or if it is related to the goups function?

I have an idea of what might have happened: I haven't checked this, but when tracks are grouped and have take folders on them, what happens when you switch one of the take folders to editing mode (rather than the regular quick swipe mode)? Do all the associated group tracks switch to edit mode in sync with the one being changed? If not, I think that's where your problem happened.
