Logic 7 & earlier Trimming audio regions to line up start points for file export

I'm using Logic 6.4 and am exporting the files for someone else to mix. I have trimmed all the tracks to the same start point, deleted unused and optimized all the files, but there are a few that are stubborn and won't destruct the extra bits on the front, which of course means they won't line up when imported. All but 5 line up perfectly and no matter WHAT I do, I can't seem to get rid of the extra bit that prevents those few tracks from starting where they should. When I look at them in the sample window the start point is at the bar it should be. The client is waiting and I don't know what else to try.

use a "pip". Place a small click or tone at say bar 2 of all the tracks.. then they line up the tracks to the click/tone.. not to the region start.

just create a new track with the one click/tone on it that is solo safe and then bounce out the tracks one at a time.

Thanks - that makes sense. I've had folks send me files that way. I kind of prefer they all start lined up. I DID finally figure out that I needed to SAVE SELECTION in the sample edit window instead of 'save copy as'. However, I'd still love to solve why it doesn't delete the edited region after I've deleted the chopped off segement from the audio window.. Particularly since it does it fine on most tracks. Weird. Anyway, I'm SO glad I finally figured it out. Thanks for your advice.
