Does anyway know an automated method to truncate the slapback of delay effects at the tail of vocal phrases (or instruments for that matter)?
back in the “day” we did it with side chain gates and buss configs.

I’ve been using the automation curves to do it - there’s a nice way to cut and past a group of keyframes after each phrase - makes it easier but still takes a while.

    Looking for an “automatic” method…

    For example:
A send in the vocal track to a bus.
In the aux channel the wet delay.
After the delay a Logic Noise Gate with the bus or the vocal channel as sidechain.

Result: When the vocal track falls below the gate threshold, the gate will suppress the delay over an adjustable release time to an adjustable amount of reduction.
