Logic 8 Ultrabeat Sample, Software Inst. causing buzz

When I trigger samples in Ultrabeat or use software instruments with my MIDI controller there is a noticeable 2 seconds of buzz. It sounds like a bit crusher has been applied but it hasn't. I believe this is an internal Logic problem because the buzz is registering as signal and taking CPU power. I attempted to fix the problem by disconnecting and reconnecting my Mbox, by increasing then decreasing the size of my I/O buffer, and restarting Logic.

Have you optimized your energy saving in the preferences? If you have disc sleep off, I imagine it might cause this kind of issue.

Q: does this happen every time you trigger a note? Only on Logic instruments? Are you also using a drive for recording or sample storage?
