I have a drum region loaded into an instrument track. I can hear the sounds by clicking on the piano keys to the left in the piano roll editor. However, with caps lock on and the virtual keyboard displayed I cannot hear any sounds when hitting the appropriate keys of my keyboard. It had been working fine but it stopped for some reason. I searched this and found a reference to assuring proper "cable" connections in the environment window, but they all look ok. I am using logic 9 on mac with osx10.6.8.
If I close the project and reopen it, I get the sound back when operating the caps lock keyboard, BUT when I change to another octave using the number keys as indicated on the virtual keyboard, the feature no longer works, AND when I return to the default octave (-2) I still get no sound. I have searched high and low for comments on this problem but cannot find anything helpful
