Logic Pro (X) Logic Meters Sync Problem

mk3

Logician
Hello -
This has been an ongoing issue, but decided to attempt to finally resolve.

Logic's channel strip and mixer meters are typically out of sync. They are a bit late compared to the audio.

I tried a minimal project: New blank Logic project, imported a 909 kick sample and looped. No plug-ins. The meters are visibly late.

Oddly, Logic's own Level Meter, if instantiated on the track or the Output channel strip, is in time with the audio. Yet the channel strip meters are all late.

Of course, the problem gets worse in a project with latency-inducing plug-ins. This is silly in a "professional" DAW.

I have full latency compensation turned on. I have tried the various Process Buffer and Threads settings. I/O buffer as low as 32 samples. Restarted, etc. No difference.

This is also not a problem with the MOTU hardware or drivers, as this occurs even if I switch to using the built-in audio I/O of the MacBook.

Is this something idiosyncratic to my system, or a general issue?

Thank you for any advice.

Regards.
